How to become a medical assistant?

The medical assistant is a physician who has successfully completed his medical studies and who has been granted the license to practice medicine (license to practice medicine).

Resident Doctor Occupation: Activities and tasks

The assistant doctor carries out the routine work in the doctor’s office or in the hospital.

Surgery and anesthetics are also part of the duties of a medical assistant. The intern is supervised and instructed by specialists. The direct supervision is usually exercised by a senior physician, who regularly discusses all patients with the assistant doctor.

Resident doctor training: Doctor in further education

The term “Resident Doctor Education” stands for the training of assistant physician to specialist and not what you might think for the training as a resident physician. This has already taken place during medical studies. During the internship, the assistant is trained as a specialist, which is why the term doctor in advanced training is used for the assistant. More often, therefore, the term specialist training or the term specialist training is used. At the end of the training, a specialist title will be obtained in exactly one field (eg surgery).

The duration of the specialist training depends on the respective field. As a rule, the specialist training lasts 60 to 72 months. Application and career entry as a medical assistant
