Frequently Asked Questions about GentleLASE

Is It Painful?

The GentleLASE has a dynamic cooling process where cryogen is sprayed onto the skin, cooling the upper layers, providing increased comfort.  This helps to protect the skin, while effectively treating unwanted hair.

Is It Permanent?

GentleLASE disables active, pigmented hair follicles. Therefore, multiple sessions are necessary to get the clinical results desired. Although it may not be possible to eliminate every hair follicle, our treatment has proven to provide a permanent reduction in hair growth. 

Since the treatment works only on pigmented follicles, patients with white hair or very light colored hair with no pigment in the hair follicle may not respond to treatment.  All tanned skin should be allowed to return to its normal pigmentation before considering laser hair removal.

 What is Involved in Treatment?

A small handpiece will be used that touches the skin to deliver the laser light.  A gentle spray of coolant onto the skin will be felt just before each laser pulse.  Safety eyewear is provided to protect your eyes during the laser procedure.The procedure can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour depending on the areas treated. The treated area may become pink or red within about 30 minutes of treatment; however a patient may leave immediately following treatment and resume daily activities.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Hair grows in cycles. The number of treatments required depend upon your skin, hair coloring, coarseness of the hair, and density of the hair in the treated area. Everyone will require at least 3-4 treatments, as the process is only effective on hairs during their growing cycle.

Will My Insurance Cover This Procedure?

Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for cosmetic procedures; however, consult your insurance carrier for more information. Payment for services should be made at the time of service for each session.  Examples of our fee schedule are included on the back of our brochure. A free consultation will be provided prior to your first session.  At this session your skin type and level of treatment will be determined.

Call the CMP Pavilion Garden Center at (559) 451-0893 to schedule your initial, free laser consultation. Convenient hours are available for treatment with appointments generally available Monday-Friday, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, excluding Tuesday.

Payment is required at the time of service.  CMP accepts Visa, Mastercards, Discover and American Express and also debit cards, making payment easy.
